Bring on the summer

We have been keeping busy at the Dairy over the winter. With the unfortunate news of lockdown 3 in January, we chose to look forward and plan for the summer.

There is a new hedge along one of the field boundaries to improve the view for our guests. Once established, it will encourage more birds and insects to the area. We have also set up a few hedgehog shelters around the farmyard and hope they’ll be used in the near future.

The outside area has been improved with the purchase of a fire pit and a barbeque so guests can make the most of the outdoors while they are with us.

Inside, we have put a desk in the downstairs bedroom to allow guests to “work from anywhere”. There now seems to be a greater demand for workspaces in holiday cottages and we are happy to oblige! We are also adding some artwork to the walls. Sticking to our love of nature we commissioned three prints of bumblebee species from a local artist, Annabel Carrington.

Now we are working our way through the ever-changing rules and regulations set by the government as the country begins to open up again. We cannot wait to host all of our guests this summer and hope we can make their staycation memorable so they want to come back again and again!
